This is the first post of my new puzzle blog. I am obsessed with puzzles, specifically Hometown Collection Puzzles by Heronim.
Heronim Wysocki is the brother of the famous painter, Charles Wysocki. Not wanting to capitalize on his brother's fame, he chose to release his paintings under his first name alone and signs them all Heronim. His subjects are real places with a touch of Americana. All of his paintings contain a black cat somewhere within the picture. Hence the logo for Hometown Collection puzzles features the black cat. The original set of puzzles was released by RoseArt, but they are currently manufactured by MegaPuzzles.
I will post the list of puzzles released with pictures of all the covers and the pictures of the completed puzzle, if I have it. Hopefully, others will be able to use this as a reference site to their own Heronim puzzle hobby.
This is just my personal list of puzzles. I don't represent nor am I affiliated with Mega Puzzles or Heronim. My posts represent only my own opinion and I am confident they reserve all the rights and trademarks, etc.
I would like to get in on this blog. I have collected all, I believe, of Heronim's 1000 piece puzzles except the special shaped ones. I have 138.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find out if I do indeed have them all.
I've been looking for hours trying to find a complete list of heronim puzzles.

ReplyDeleteI was able to find his four "special shape" 1000 piece puzzles on eBay and I purchased them last week, so I believe I now have ALL of Heronim's 1000 piece puzzles. I just love working them, obviously.

Please tell me the exact name of the puzzle as he has several with the San Francisco Bridge, or Golden Gate Bridge in them. I would be glad to help out.
ReplyDeleteI bought a used Heronim puzzle on ebay and the bag of pieces does not match the box. I am putting it together without a picture. Does anyone know which of his puzzles has a big stained glass window on the left margin and maybe a lot of snow? It seems to be a night picture, in winter?

Anyone know where the cat is in the winter scene with the Xmas tree and ice skating?
ReplyDeleteIs it is it called Candellight Inn? Because we can't find the cat either
DeleteI think that if you look along the right side of the puzzle there is a person in a yellow sweater on a sled with a cat in his lap. Pretty obscure.

I was given a used "Union Square" puzzle without the large poster of the art. Is there a way to obtain one? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. Sorry.
DeleteCan't find the black cat in Ocean Star! I have had many people look at it and we do not see the cat. I hate to give up but it's been a week and still no luck.
ReplyDeleteI’ll have to pull my puzzles out of the attic and look. I can’t see it when I look on my phone. I haven’t been in this blog for a long time. Wow.

I'm also having trouble finding the cat in the Candlelight Inn puzzle. he comment above must refer to a different puzzle because this one doesn't have a person in a yellow sweater on a sled.
ReplyDeleteWe spent about 30 minutes looking. My wife suggested it's cold so he may be inside the building, but that doesn't sound like something Heronim would do. Any ideas"
Wow. I can’t see it on my phone. I’ll look at my puzzles and see if I can find it.

Is the cat in puzzle 09200 Sausalito Water Front on top of a chimney on the right side of the puzzle? I think it is, my wife doesn't think so.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I was unable to find the black cat in Sausalito Water Front either- sorry about that!
DeleteCheck out this site: https://sites.google.com/site/hometowncollectionpuzzlelist/home/full-puzzle-list
It has a full list of Heronim Hometown Collection puzzles!
Sausalito Water Front - I think the cat is in the yellow Chandlery building, the building is on the left side, bottom. The cat is looking out the bottom of the window, second floor window, this window is in the top right side of the building wall. If not, something is looking out that window. Happy Puzzling.
DeleteSan Francisco Conservatory.. Can't find the cat after looking with magnifying glass over entire puzzle. There is an obvious dog, but the cat is nowhere to be seen. Anyone have any input or clues?
ReplyDeleteSunday in the park. The black cat is on the far right. On the eave of the roof of the big long building.
ReplyDeleteThe black cats don't exist...cruel joke!
